contrasting pairs

This is my submission fir the contrasting pairs contest.

I’ve had this photo for a while now and thought it fit the category perfect. There are many ways in which these to things contrast with one another. Soft, rough, black, white(ish), living, dead etc etc…
After looking at it on screen for while, I also noticed that the right side of the photo feels warm, and the other cold by difference in light and color (unintentional, and the side with the skull is the warm side???).

This turtle skull was found in the woods where a friend of mine owns and operates a campground. I was fascinated with the bone texture and decided to shoot it one day because it was so beautiful. Of course the nosey cat of mine had to scope it out about halfway through. I was about to shoo him away, but as I pulled away from the lens I realized that his face was lined up just right.
